that's not bricked
bricked means it won't boot

do you have a backup? just restore to that if you can.

As digitalslacker said... worst case is you have a softbrick -- easily fixable, don't panic!! Hopefully you made a backup and can just boot into recovery and restore that?

If not, might have to check my guide for restoring the factory images... its not hard at all and will get you right back to stock condition. For the future, always make a backup before tinkering with stuff :)

Let me know if you need help!

If its soft bricked doesnt it mean no abd access?
Also if I do a factory reset will my backed up data on clockworkmod be removed?

Soft bricked has come to mean a number of things. People use the term so loosely now that it can even mean a boot loop.

Easy enough to check, get into the bootloader and try adb devices and see if it's listed.

As far as I remember using the images will completely wipe everything on the device. Just like it came outa the box.

My Nexus 7 is also stuck at the X because I installed Elite Kernel. Can anyone please help?
Also I do not want to loose my data or at least back up it on my laptop

If you can find the stock kernel you can probably just flash it with adb.

I got the stock kernel but not sure how to flash it.
Thank you.

So there are three ways to fix it.

If you can get into recovery CWM or TWRP and you can find a flashable zip of the recovery you can just flash it and you'll be good. I think it's located here but I haven't tried it so i don't want to say for certain. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929459

Or, If you are also running a custom ROM with your custom kernel that isn't working you can just reflash the ROM zip file in CWM or TWRP as it will have it's own kernel that it'll flash over the broken one.

Lastly, if you have the stock kernel in image format (.img) you can flash it with ADB from your computer. You'll need ADB access setup, you'll need to put the phone in bootloader mode and use the command fastboot flash boot <image name>.img

There are plenty of guides around on this one.

If you give me more info on how you are setup I could suggest an option.
