Help! Please!

Did I not read the fine print or something here, but was I supposed to unroot before installing the OTA.zip that was leaked today? My phone is stuck in a loop I think. Every time it goes into a white HTC Screen, has a black loading box with a percentage, (always at 34%, it says force close or wait), and then re-boots itself with the new Droid Eye bootup and everything, and then proceeds to do it over and over again. What the heck is going on?! Help please!

Try booting in to recovery then wipe your phone and flash the rooted rom you were using before.

I wasnt using a rooted rom, I just rooted with Stock 2.1update1. I made a nandroid of that and reverted back to that for now so the phone at least works. Do you think by doing a full wipe and then trying the update.zip again it will work? Or should I just screw it and run a 2.2 ROM and not compromise my root and or bricking my phone??

well after wiping and then trying to install it, it now bootloops even worse. it just does the htc bootup, then DROID and it does it all over again. let it do it for five minutes thinking it would stop, but it didnt. lame. so a battery pull later and in HBOOT, now what?

Wiping it won't unroot you so doing that will keep putting you into boot loops. Your options once you wipe and install your back up is to unroot your phone then do the update or load the 2.15 radio like upstream said and go to RC3 or another 2.2 rooted rom.

I just followed those instructions to the T, and Im on S-off and what not now, and when Im in H-Boot and it tries to read the new antenna, it just says SD read, or something, no image, so I tried to load it in recovery by selecting the pb31 zip to manually upload it, instantly clockwork aborted it, and I got the .zip from the link in the forums you gave me, am i ******ed or does my incredible just hate me? haha

* after reading a bit more, seems I have to format my SD card to FAT32 to get it to work, thought it already was, lets see if this works! haha.

You didn't upgrade your radio, did you?

If you're using a radio that is 2.X or above, you can't install the official update.

Why do so many people with rooted phones insist on flashing the Verizon official update?

No I upgraded it finally, I didnt have the sd formatted. A total newb move, I forgot that I got a new one, haha. Thats why I couldnt update the radio, and yeah I knew I couldnt update without a 2.x radio. That wasnt the problem, but now everything is figured out and I have Stock 2.2 with Root thanks to unrevokedforever and everyones help, thanks again!
