I'll keep this short. I've rooted my Droid 4 and I only did it to get rid of bloat and possibly tether whenever I need it. I've done a ton of searching and everyone seems to be talking about the Nexus or Galaxy, so here I am.

1. The 4.2 update is failing and I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I've tried a lot of different things but nothing has worked. I don't want to do a wipe because I've got a lot of things set up nicely and I don't want to do it all again. Has anyone done a successful 4.2 update with a rooted Droid 4?
2. I don't really care to get the update, so if I can't figure it out, how do I stop it from constantly asking me to update?

Bump for an answer! Same problem here. Gets about 40% through and fails. I, on the other hand, do want the update though. So any suggestions would be good. Rooted Droid 4, stock, 4.0 right now.

It seems as though this forum isn't good enough to figure this stuff out. So after some more research, this worked.

1. Downloaded Voodoo and backed up my root.
2. Downloaded ROM Manager.
3. Went to website Unroot and back to stock? - xda-developers and found a post by sd_shadow, and went to his links for Droid 4 google docs.
Downloaded these and put them on my sdcard:
Jellybean update: place .zip on sd card and use android recovery, or .zip & .crc in cache

4. Found this site: http://forums.androidcentral.com/droid-razr/183428-ota-ics-fails-25-due-bootstrap.html
5. Uninstalled Safestrap, renamed logwrapper to logwrapper.bak and logwrapper.bin to logwrapper.
6. Used ROM Manager to boot to recovery.
7. When the droid image shows up, press both volume buttons to get the menu.
8. Install from external, found blur...zip file and pressed power to select it.
9. After the upgrade finished, I rebooted.
10. Opened Voodoo and restored root.

The Upgrade installed.
Issue:
1. I keep getting a message that says Unfortunately, Motorola Services has stopped.
2. Opened ROM Manager and fixed permissions. Once that was done I rebooted in recovery.
3. Cleared the cache partition and rebooted. This didn't work.
4. Found this and it works: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ra...hacking/237461-tool-easy-root-komplete-4.html
