Hi
I am new to this forum and I suppose it is a bit of a long shot, but I was hoping someone could help me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, which I am very happy with, and have a contract with SFR (we live in France)
My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Y GT S5360 and has just taken out a contract with Virgin FR. I know this is an old model of phone
but don't see why it should not work ok.
I am trying to help to sort a problem for him.
When the Virgin SIM is inserted, it is ok to make and receive calls and sms but it will not connect to the internet although it works ok on wifi.
When I put in my SFR SIM it all works fine - calls, sms, internet regardless of if it is on wifi or not.

Does anyone know why this should be? I thought maybe the phone was blocked, but I put in the IMEI and it isn't.
I hope I have explained this ok and someone can help.
Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
Perhaps a bad SIM card, or the phone may not be completely compatible on the network.

Thanks for that. It is a new replacement SIM card so I don't think that is the problem.
Maybe you are right and the phone is not compatible with the Virgin network.
Would that be normal?

Not exactly normal, but not all phones can operate on all networks.

I have managed to get it sorted now.
It may be of use to someone else.
I downloaded an app called Tweakker and that then configured the phone for the internet and MMS.
All working fine now.
Thanks for your help
