How do you stop receiving the spam that pops up on the phone... Not email or text... It just randomly pops up in the notification bar. Getting annoying

It is most likely an app that you have installed.. If you can remember what you've downloaded lately, go through and either disable notifications from those apps one by one, or uninstall then reinstall one by one..

Download airpush detector, it will tell you which app is sending the ads and gives you the option to uninstall the offending app.

You don't need to download an app. When you get the spam, slide down the notification shade, long press on the offending notification, and then tap app details. Android will tell you exactly what app is sending out the spam.

Once you find out which ad it is (Airpush, leadbolt are the two top offenders), you can then do an opt out. Both I think you can just Google them and go to their site and put in your device info, like the HEX, and they will stop.
