Help! Texts appearing only as numbers???

Has anyone else had this problem? Texts appear on the phone (A Samsung Note 2), but on the watch they only show the name of the person who sent them, and then numbers -- usually the same number every time.

Repeated reboots of the phone and watch have no effect.

Any idea how to fix this?

Are the series of numbers their phone number? Have you tried a different texting app? Perhaps the stock one isn't fully set up for wearable devices?

No, the numbers actually look like an error message. They aren't though, or at least a google search didn't turn them up.

We did get it working again by turning off the phone and watch, then turning on the phone, then the watch.

Such is life with devices that are essentially still in beta.

Use Hangouts the stock Samsung app isn't fully compatible.

I didn't think hangouts (which I only use as a last resort for anything) handled standard text messages (SMS).

It should. There is an option within Hangouts to set it as default.

Hangouts works great for sms/mms on my Nexus 5. No problems with notifications or replying on my M360.

I use both. I Switched from the Samsung SMS app to hangouts because with hangouts it gives you the option to respond to text messages while the samsung only allowed you to read the text messages.
