Help: unexpected failure error message after entering password

could someone please help me with my sons phone, when he puts in his password instead of the main screen coming on it flashes up unexpected failure and then wont let u do anything else at all. he can still receive phone calls but cant do anything else. Its a Galaxy Ace

Boot your phone in recovery mode and select clean cache and after that perform a factory reset. And that should fix the problem.
