i just got a new nexus 7 today and decided i should root it before i got too involved
well i installed the supersu zip file and rebooted and got an endless boot loop, so i decided to do some wiping
somehow i managed to wipe the os. i didn't think it was possible. it doesn't boot into anything now

it's not bricked--i still have access to bootloader and the custom recovery, but i don't know how to install an os. all guides i've looked at are for the 2012 nexus 7 and won't work.

what's worse is with everything i try more and more things get messed up. now i can't wipe caches from the custom recovery, and the custom recovery shows both internal storage and usb-otg as "0 mb" my bootloader is some weird "flo" instead of "grouper"

PLEASE HELP. I'm in dire need of guidance! Is it bricked?? how do i fix the custom recovery? I'm so frustrated and stressed out right now, and this is my last resort (though maybe it shouldn't have been) this is seriously one of the worst experiences in my life

Firstly, "flo" is the code for the 2013 model. I could help you flash the factory image, however Google haven't released it for the 2013 Nexus 7. Sorry!

thank you for the quick replies! it turns out it showed usb-otg as 0 mb because it couldn't detect usb 3.0
i put CleanROM (the only rom avaliable here as of now) on and i'm currently installing it. it's taking FOREVER on the boot animation, but i'm reluctant to touch it because i don't want to mess anything else up and i know that dalvik cache takes a while to boot once cleared.
i'll give it another 2 minutes, i may have to use the method you linked, sfhub, which i'm sure works fine

-----EDIT------
went back to the recovery and did the FORMAT DATA option, then rebooted. it works now!
i knew it would work all along

same thing happened to me :( I've been trying to fix it for the past 3 hours and I can't get anything to work. I badly need someone to help a noob fix this. I will desperately pay someone if they fix it for me.ac
