I have a rooted droid 2 global and am wanting to use an AT&T sim card in it while I am traveling in the USVI. The USVI has Verizon coverage with the CDMA network but they charge $1.99/minute so I was wanting to use my AT&T prepaid SIM card which is only $2/day.

My question is, can I just use the AT&T GSM SIM or will my phone default the the Verizon CDMA network and charge me big bucks? What do I need to do do make this work?

Thanks...Brad

you can try and use your AT&T sim, but my guess is just like in the US verizon has banned usage of AT&T and T-mobile SIM cards. In the US it is a 1 network device. everywhere else in the world, it is unlocked in the real sense of the word.
