Okay, so I have a rooted Nexus 4 running stock Jelly Bean 4.2.2
I'm not a big user of Voice Search/Voice Command but I remember it working correctly before but now it never does what I want it to do. Using an example page from XDA (Google Now Voice Commands *NEW 13/2/2013 * - xda-developers) I went through some commands but nothing rarely works:
I said 'Set a 10 minute reminder' and while it read all my words correctly, it tried to set an alarm for 10:00pm (the current time was 8:45 pm). Tried it again this morning and still tries to set a 10:00pm alarm.
If I try saying 'Set a 15 minute reminder', it says 'Saving note'. I have absolutely no idea what this means as there is no default note app in Android. I did a search and got nothing for this.
Other than that when I try most of the voice search/command options from XDA they show google search results instead of what it should show.
I've recently wiped the phone as I has having battery and signal issues (and as nothing else was working I figured I'd give that a try). After noticing the issues with Voice Command, the most I found online was to clear the cache/data for the app. As there is no dedicated Voice Search app, I cleared the data and cache for Google Search and it re-updated through Google Play.
But nothing is working. I'm really not keen on doing another wipe and reinstall since I just went through it but at this point I can't think of anything else to do.
I'm not a huge user of Voice Search/Command but it does come in handy when trying to set reminders which is why it is bugging me so much now (ex: start cooking on the stove and set a reminder for the alarm to go off in 10 minutes so you don't forget about it while watching TV).
It's really frustrating me so hopefully someone has some ideas. Other than that I guess I'll contact Google Support.
