Welcome to Android Central forums.
Get an Ultra S series device from Samsung. Oh, wait that was what I did to get the anytime and screen off notes. Hahaha. I feel you on the convenience of that always ready note.
Anyway, to your question, finding someone who uses an app similar to what you're describing randomly in a pond as small as ours is probably going to be challenging. So how do you find a similar app? You could literally Google the name of the app and ask for similar apps. I have yet to find an app that this doesn't work for. Users are always looking for and posting a list of similar apps for anything. This kind of search will usually get a top 10 better than list, which a lot of times will include some of the features or at least an app description for each of the alternatives. Option 2 would be to search your formally good app on the Play Store. Usually the Play Store will offer a list of "similar to" apps below the app description. Showing apps that by description are similar to the app you're looking at.
What is the name of the app you're wanting to replace?
What device do you have?
Was it an update that cause it to stop working or was the app discontinued or disabled? If it stopped working after an update, we might be able to help you troubleshoot and fix that app. You might also be able to find an online mirror with an older version of the app that works.
