Help with ADB

Hey guys a friend give me his EVO to load a custom rom, so I?m trying to load a custom recovery.. But I don?t know why when the phone is in recovery mode, ADB doesn?t list the device.. I?m doing it this way http://www.androidcentral.com/evo-4g-root-instructions

But when the phone is runing normaly it?s listed in the adb devices... So... ?

(I?m not familiar with the EVO)

is it rooted already? im guessing its not, now that ive looked at the guide in your link. its a pretty old guide, thats the way we root froyo, you probly have gingerbread. if u do have gingerbread (2.3.x) then youll want to use the revolutionary method at revolutionary.io, i believe. im sure ill be corrected if im wrong.

Thanks... yeah I had to do it using Revolutionary... Now is rooted and with a custom recovery..

But damn all of the roms with sense 3.0 have wifi issues
