help with battery

So here is my battery life at the end of day. Now I am at about 37% so that's pretty good however I wasn't on my phone that much today the biggest culprit was Google Play services. Now there's two screenshots that show Services was once they get up about 30% of my battery and the one that is recent which shows 25%. I have seen other post about this. It does seem to be an issue. However my battery drain is a lot better since I have cleared the chassis. Didn't really want to do a factory data reset it's a pain but I'll do it if I need to. Also I had one note that one of the screenshots is of my Google main account that has everything linking to it. The one that seems to be in the perpetual syncing is People Details.

You can uninstall irrelevant apps, if the android device sports AMOLED screen, then black background is preferable, turn off 3G/4G, Wi-fi or Bluetooth signal when not in use. Or use battery saver like Purify, it is good and easy to manage your battery life.

That is a problem with Google services, it may be a synching issue in the back with your google account. Try removing, then adding your google account back. Also go into tour app manager, find google play services and uninstall the uodates and clear cach and data. Should remove the battery drain bug

Just a very minor thing (and it might be autocorrect's fault), but it's "cache," not "chassis." ;)

I see that your wi-fi is on all the time -- do you ever turn it off? I ask because if it shows as being on constantly even if you turn it off manually, then you probably have the wi-fi scanning option turned on for location. It might help to turn that off. Go to Settings>Location and tap Menu to see if there is a Scanning option there. It might also be in Settings>Wi-fi, then tapping Menu>Advanced.

I think having the Wi-Fi scanning on could have a possible battery affect. I had that on my M9 and never had an issue with my battery. And I never had an issue before the security updates August and September came in for the HTC 10. However I will try to turn that off.

So I will try moving my account and adding it back that is an easy thing to do. Since you don't lose any more contacts of course since they sync back. But when it comes to Google Play services I've had Android for something like seven years now I've done a lot of factory data reset and I know how Android works I was asking the community because I had done everything that I knew and was just going to ask advice and I do think everybody for their advice I am trying everything that everybody is saying. But I have uninstalled updates for Google Play services and clear the data that help for about a day and then the battery died and came back. So what I'll do is do they remove the account and add it back see that helps.

I repeat that I would install GSam battery app and have a look at what apps are hogging the system. I find that HTCs app usage information page and GSam display battery usage on different ways... GSam will either confirm that Google services is the culprit or reveal another insidious app behaving badly.

Also have you looked into the HTC service pack... Sometimes people have complained that updates to the HTC service packs have caused battery drain. Maybe roll back to the factory installed HTC service pack version and use your phone for a day to see if that helps... If you read up on the comments on Google play there are usually a lot of complaints about htc service pack updates ruining battery life.

So I have used gsam battery monitor and it has not worked for me so I had uninstalled it. I had used it for about 3 to 4 days and it was the one that was actually draining my battery according to it. Now it is the one that helps my battery that one other poster said what's the turn off the Wi-Fi searching in location settings. So this seems to have helped. At this point I'm just trying to find out why google play services using so much battery.

This can be very difficult, if not impossible, because any app can utilize Google Play Services (and not just Google apps or the system).

Just installed purify and just want to know what makes this different than apps like greenify?

You have to do a factory reset

So no one else is having any problems Google Play services when they are forms on the marshmallow forums stating that there is probably go play some other Android phones. I should not have to do a factory data reset. I did clear the cache and it has seemed to help a bit not as much because Google services still using a lot of battery about 15% right now. But I should have to do a factory reset because of that. I will if I have to just takes like 4 hours to get everything back on.

I definitely agree with the people who blame unexplained battery drain on apps.

I noticed a sudden drop myself. I turned off diagnostic monitoring settings on my T-Mobile app and I uninstalled the blackberry hub app.

My battery life is as good as ever, and it was definitely apps causing my battery drain.

Well I don't really do anything different I didn't do a factory data reset. All I do is clear the cache of Google Play services and the phone and my phone has seemed to finally settle down. I also think it was that My People Details in my account settings seem to be constantly syncing. I turned that off for a while then turn it back on and it sink and it fix itself a little bit.
