Help with Blackberry HUB app

I'm using Blackberry HUB on my Galaxy Note 3 and I have a question:
Sometimes when I browse/open my emails there are threads showing a partially yellow envelope under a already read message so I assume that there is a message or messages still unread in the thread. There is a small grey circle with a number which I guess it shows how many messages are still unread in the thread. However, I never seem to easily access these unread message(s).
If I sweep right or left I see the next or previous threads but how do I flip through the messages in the current thread?

Stop using conversation view! Ha ha.

I use the HUB and your assumptions if how it should work are correct. To see the unread messages, I tap on the message thread and then I see a new list of emails, i.e., whatever was in the thread. At that point I can scroll and see rhe unread email messages. No swiping left or right involved.
