Help with checking for update.

Somehow when I checked my phone for the update it now says I can't check it again for another 700 hours. I'm no phone wizard. Just seeing if there is anything I can do to check again without waiting another 700 hours.

Android: If you know or suspect there's an update available for your Android device but nothing's showing up when you check for a system update in the device settings, here's an alternate method to force a check right now. P

Usually you can go to Settings > About Phone > System Update to check for available updates, but the problem with that is carriers often have staggered release cycles.P

Ghacks posts an alternative method. Go to Settings > Apps (or Applications) and select show All. Then find Google Services Framework and click the Clear Data button. Then click the Force Stop button.P

np, i myself have wanted updates ASAP. This is why I have considered going the Nexus route since they get the updates right away. The note series is just too beast to leave right now :/

I tried it but it didn't reset the timer. I'm at a loss.

at least you know the timer will reset when you get pushed the OTA update for the 4.3 refinement. Then you'll be able the check again every 24 hours for the 4.4 update that is coming in less than a month

ah you're waiting for kit kat? For the note 3 my guess is next week around wednesday if it follows the same timeline as the gs4 regarding the spacing of the leaks.
