Help with custom ROMs

I have rooted my HTC One (sprint) about a month ago but have had no luck with any of the custom ROMS i have tried to install. I'm very disappointed. I am no expert with this stuff, however i rooted my last two phones (Samsung Galazy s3 and before that the HTC evo) and installed dozens of custom ROMs on each of those devices. Most all the ROMs i installed on my past phones worked just fine with every once in a while something would not be working on one. I was always switching ROMs just to see what each different one had. Like i said, i had luck and had everything working on at least 90 percent of the ROMs i tried.
I have now tried all of the ROMs i can find for my HTC One but have not found one yet with everything working. Its either the camera doesnt work, or bluetooth hasnt worked, or data period doesn't work. It has been just about everything not working. Sometimes the ROM won't even load up at all after the install. I have tried nightly updates of the custom ROMs and different versions, but still its always the same. Things are just not working right. Anyone have any ideas if its something i can do different? Or are there just no good custom ROMs for the HTC One? I can't imagine that being the case but like i said i really don't know what it could be. I had so much success with my past two phones, but now i can't get anything to work right on my new phone. I have even tried toing it with TWRP recovery and CWM recovery. Can anyone help me or shed some light on this?? Thanks

I personally run the following ROM on my HTC One (Sprint). Been using Bad Boyz for about a good 5 months now and love it.

Developer stays on top of things and seems to have a well rounded support group/community backing him.

They have a newer version based on ported Sense 6 but its still a bit early and may still need a little time to mature.

We have another sense 6 update coming soon which is a new base and we have the bugs worked out. I would say it shouldn't be to much longer.
Yeah as far as flashing roms that have issues thats odd. i know at times CM based roms has bugs for im sure most roms are working great. What firmware are you on?

Good to hear. I wouldn't have recommended it if I wasn't confident. I've flashed more ROMs over the years than I care to remember so when I find a good ROM I stick with it.

I have the Bad Boys Rom installed and it is working great. My question is about an update. The Rom developer has an update released. Version 1.2. If I update my Rom through the developer do I lose all my apps and settings lie when I installed the Rom or does it keep everything on my phone as is?

We only made minor changes and you should be able to Dirty flash, which means only wipe cache and dalvik and you'll be fine

I have HTC one M7 on sprint. I am currently using BadBoyz Sense 6 v1.2 released on 4/10/14. I use philz recovery. I received a notification there was an update. I have tried several different times to update via OTA, download and SVN. On all attempts it tells me the md5 is error. It thought it might be because I am S on? I tired to obtain S off, but no success. I am sure I am missing something simple, but I cannot figure it out on my own. I would like to update and also obtain S- off. If anyone can help that would be awesome. Thank you

What did you use for s-off? firewater or rumrunner? i believe firewater should do the trick. As far as taking a Official OTA you need to be pretty much stock with the stock recovery. We released a new updated rom based off the official sense 6 but its best to be on the latest firmware. We also released the latest RUU which you can use to get on the firmware but you will need to unlock the bootloader and flash a recovery again, pretty much starting over from stock.

Invalid sparse file format at header magi
So I tried a previous RUU from when I flashed the April BB rom and received
a fail on the signature.
Not entirely sure what to do from here, pretty much stuck. The phone is on, but no data, and nothing in my internal storage anymore.

You might need to flash a custom kernel because the stock kernel has been patched to block firewater
You dont flash the RUU you need to extract the zip and run the exe

-extract zip to a folder on your pc
-boot into bootloader (various ways)
-using fastboot, type this cmd: fastboot oem lock this will relock the bootloader (S-ON ONLY)
-from pc, run ARUWizard.exe from the extracted folder. it will run the RUU utility & flash back to stock
