Is there a way to look up an address in Google Maps on my desktop and then forward that location to my phone for routing? I'd also like to save certain addresses but Maps doesn't appear to allow that either on the desktop or the phone?

There is a "My Maps" feature in Google Maps but I've never been able to figure out how to save an address there.

Basically, I have to retype every address into my phone which seems silly since I've already looked it up on my desktop in Google maps.

Thanks.

Chrome to Phone is one way.

You can also save the search results in a custom map (do this using the same Google account as the one you use for your device) and then load the map via layers on your device.

I'd suggest playing with it. It should be something like: Go into My Maps, create a new map, search, save the map.

What I did was I created a folder on one of my home screens, then in that folder I created shortcuts for maps and navigation. It prompts you to input the address, you can give it a customer maps/navigation icon and name it what you want.

After doing this when you click on one of the shortcuts it automatically launches Google navigation, giving you directions to the location.

edit: Of course this is only helpful for addresses you travel to frequently.

Update - I played around with my places on maps.google.com.
Make sure you are logged into you gmail account on maps.google.com. After you find a location on the map you can click "Save to..." on the left (under the address) Here you can either save it to "My Saved Places" or make your own entry.

After doing this when you are looking at maps on your phone if you click the layer button at the top right (middle) you should see "My Saved Places" if not then click "More layers" button and selected "My Saved Places"

Click on the location, then notice there is a little white star on the top right of the location popup. It is called a "starred item" click on the star and it will turn yellow. This is now one of your starred items which shows up in my maps. On the phone, It is accessable by getting directions and when you choose a starting or end point it prompts you to choose from "starred items"
Also, you can access starred items on the phone by going to menu, then more and it shows starred items.
