Help with high media volume?

My phone media volume seems to be stuck in high. I am able to mute it but even at the lowest volume setting it is extremely loud. It didn't used to be. Does anyone know of any troubleshooting techniques to fix it?

Is the volume slider actually going down when you press Vol Down? Just wondering if there's a problem with the button itself.
