I am trying to install gingerbread on my nook color. i followed this guide

up to the point of rebooting the nook, with the SD card unmounted and removed. When I tried to reboot, the Cyanogen logo showed up, but it soon flashed an image of the 'n' logo quickly, followed by a Nook error message which read something like "install did not happen correctly"
Any words of wisdom? I'm stumped.
