Help with ROM Manager

I using a root with unrevoked3, i downloaded rom manager, and now when I move the rom to the root of the SD card, and I pick it from the list in ROM Manager, and the phone restarts, how do i get it to go to the rom i put on there. am I supposed to change the name of the rom that i put on the sd card to anything?

Did you install a recovery (Clockwork or RA)?

I thought unrevoked installed everything for u. How can i tell if i have that installed

If you installed ROM Manager correctly, then there is an option to install a recovery.

That's what it looks like, it's the option at the top of the screen. Make sure Wifi is connected (It will go faster) and it may not work the first time. Keep trying.

i have clockworkmod 2.5.0.1 as the current recovery. when i move the rom that i want to the sd card, do i need to change the name of the file to anything

No, and leave it in the zip file that it comes in. Then select "Install ROM from SD card" in ROm manager. It should reboot into recovery and begin the installation.

I have tried all that, and it still doesn't boot into recovery.

Just got rooted and I downloaded rom manager.I tried to install clockworkmod and it says "an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!" Does this mean my root didnt work? Everything went well while using simpleroot2. I tried to reboot it and see if that help but it didn't. The boot process looked different so I assume I'm rooted.

I think I read somewhere that using unrevoked does not allow you to flash roms. Try rooting using simple root

Sometimes it gets hung up, give it a few minutes and try installing it again. May take a couple tries but it will work

ok, I wasnt sure if it was my root because it says it has an error trying to run privileged commands. i thought maybe it didnt give me su status.

Look in all apps, if you have a super user icon you are good to go

NO super user icon. but there are a bunch of new icons. like hdmi controller, dev tools, ciq tools, some others i've never seen. but no su

I rooted using unrEVOked3 and I was able to flash ROMs just fine. I did not use ROM manager, I did it through recovery.

Still can't install clockwork. I don't think wait and keep trying is helping. What's wrong here?

I used simpleroot so I could run roms. If I now use unrevoked will I be able to change my Rom?
