Android Central Question

I swapped a phone with my friend and he told me mine is rooted.
I have text on my pulldown menu which is as follows:
Device model : sm a710f (this is j3 model i think , but mine is definitely a note 3)
Android 6.01
Aspire team c9 v5
Wifi n signal blah blah blah.
Aspire is the rom installed according to google.
But when i try to download superuser as , it doesnt work. I used a root test app but it says error. I googled the error and a chap says rooting has failed or malfuctioned and needs rerooting ?

Can someone please jus tell me what on earth im doing ?! Haha im completely clueless need a step by step

XDA Forums probably be best bet to root and custom Rom...but make sure you know how to go back to stock firmware in case anything don't work right.

1. Does it take a microSIM (Note 3) or a nanoSIM (A7)?

2. The Note 3 Aspire ROM works on only the following models of the Note 3 - N900D, N9002, N9005, N900W8, N900A, N900T, N900V, N900P, N900K, N900S, N900L, SC-02F, N9007, N900R4, N900J. There's no "F" model of the Note 3. (If you're reading that from the ROM, that may be where it came from.) The Exynos models aren't supported.

3. Does the back cover come off, allowing you to change the battery? (If not, it's an A7.)

If it's one of the Note 3s, get the ROM from https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-aspireteam-c9-pro-v2-0-t3610152 (post 2) and read the bottom of post 2. (And install Magisk, not SuperSU. Use the current Magisk zip - his link to 14.2 is long dead. If you need the safetynet zip [dee if Magisk passes first], the link in his post works.)

Since your not familiar, I try watching some YouTube videos to get familiar, as you can brick or ruin your phone not understanding .
