Ok so I haven't the slightest clue how rooting works or what to do to root. What are ROMs and what are kernels? Can I root my GNex on a Mac? My previous phone was an iPhone and I had it jailbroken so I'm ok messing around with the phone provided I have the instructions. I've been reading that AOKP is a good ROM and Franco or Lean for the kernel? Again I don't know what those are. Can someone provide me with detailed instructions or direct me to where I can find instructions to root and install whatever is necessary on a Mac. Before proceeding I would like to backup so I can go back to stock. I am on 4.0.2. How would I do that? I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I would appreciate the help.
