I was able to root using Motofail but now can't delete pre-installed apps

v2.3.4
I used the 64bit version of Pete's Motorola Root Tools
I tried twice and get this message in step 3
MSG:
ERROR: adb could not be granted root access via local.prop method
Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version
of Gingerbread -- hopefully you don't have a version where this exploit
was fixed.
Log:
> su
> /system/xbin/su
> mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
> exit
> exit
su
/system/xbin/su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
exit
shell@cdma_targa:/$ su
su: not found
shell@cdma_targa:/$ /system/xbin/su
/system/xbin/su: not found
