Help with Samsung 8+ selfie mode

When I flip the camera to selfie mode on my Samsung 8+ the screen says "selfie" but the screen is black..im not on the screen..nothing is??!!

take your thumb off the front camera

But seriously, have you done a reset? So many of these glitches disappear when you turn the phone off and back on.
