help with sending pictures through text

hello all when i try to send 2 or 3 pictures through text ill get and error( saying unable to attach file . file size too larger try sending via email , wifi ) ?

I'm curious, did you come from an iPhone? I did, and I've noticed this too. It seems that android phones won't allow you to send as big of files over sms or mms as iPhone does.

why not send it through whatsapp? you can send audio/music up to 12MB in size too!

Pretty sure each carrier has a size limit and it is nowhere near what a 13-megapixel photo is going to be. I wanna say iphone pics are easier compressed than others. Iunno if that is a carrier/AT&T thing, or an iphone thing.

I had a friend on AT&T iphone send me pics and short vids fine, but when I tried to send her the same with my Sprint Palm Pre, I would get cant send errors.

I could be way off with these assumptions though.

You can only send big files that are created within the phone, for example a picture you took with the phone's camera.. you put it in a text and it will say it is to big but that it will compress it for you to be able to send it.. but if its a picture imported to the phone from somewhere else then I don't know if it works the same way.

try sending each picture one at a time or get a different SMS application that will automatically break apart the pics or resize them automatically. (i think both go sms and handcent will do that)
me, i changed the photo size in the camera options to 2.4 mp 2048x1152. for casual/everyday use i don't need larger pictures.
