So I just got my ZenFone today and I will give a better review in a different post. First impressions are really good though!..
I have a problem though. I live in Canada and have as Carriers both Koodo and Virgin which are both on the Bell network. The Sim that allows data works great but the 2g only son is not working. I have tried both sim cards and neither works. Do I have to go in and have them figure it out in store or does anyone have ideas?

Btw I do have data plans for both plans if that makes a difference for the sim type.?

Yes, because it could be a bad SIM or an account that's provisioned wrong.

But if I understand what you're saying, you have 2 SIM cards for one carrier, one for 2G and data, one for 2G only. You can't have 2 SIMs on the same number at the same time. There's no way for them to provision the account to do that. Only one of the SIMs on an account is active.

Thanks for responding. Sorry i don't think explained it right. I have 2 separate numbers. One for my business and one for personal. They are 2 different numbers on different carriers. They also both have data plans.

I have tested both of them in the data sim slot on the phone at different times and they work perfect. The 2g only slot though doesn't work with either sim cards.

Is the second sim showing as recognized in the sim card settings? Also, just to be clear, you're saying you can't make or receive calls on the 2nd sim right? Data will only work on sim slot 1.

Yeah that's right I can't receive calls on sim slot 2. In the settings it won't recognize the carrier when I try. Weird thing is it did recognize that I had a voicemail.?

Well, I was going to say it sounds like a hardware problem with the sim slot if 2 known good sim cards are not recognized. But when you said you got a voicemail on it, now I don't know if it's hardware or software. Have you tried calling Asus? I have no idea how their support is or where it is located but I'd see what they have to say. Did you check your APN settings?

In dual SIM devices it is my understanding that the 2nd SIM can only do voice calls even if there is a data plan provisioned.

Edit. So you cannot receive calls in SIM 2. I would check the APN or try a reset.

So I went in to Virgin Mobile today and the girl tested it and said for sure both IMEI's are compatible with the network (which I already knew cause I did check the networks listed before buying it) She said that the second SIM slot needed to be unlocked. That didn't make sense so I went to Fido and got them to test a SIM there and it worked no problem right away. I am guessing that there is something wrong on Bell's end because 2 different companies that go off of Bell lines haven't worked. Rogers/Fido seems to work. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has this problem.

Good to know that the phone is working though.
