Help with wireless tether anyone

Okay here is my situation.

I got my Tbolt when it came out and the rep who sold it to me was a droid enthusiast to say the least. Talked about rooting and all of this other stuff that made no sense to me. he said look, clicked an app on his phone and switched ROMs just as easy as ever. Well I finally has the balls to risk the rooting process and used a one click method as I know nothing about ADB, and some of the required filed; ie, exploits.zip, were deleted from their link except from rapidshare where i got it and was too chicken cause I thought I would brick it. K so I finally rooted it. Here's my issue:

Guy at the store told me about tethering, what it was about and that Verizon's unlimited data plan is exactly that, versus some other companies whose unlimited plans are really capped around 2 gig or so.
He said get wireless tether before it disappears from the market, so I do. (trying to make this short but no cigar) Then before I rooted I purchased My Backup Pro from the market and saved everything to SD card.sooo, after root, I dl and run WT only to get a "Sorry!, The application Wireless Tether (process android.tether) has stopped running." window where I have to force close.

Now this happened to me with Lookout as well, but when I went to the market, I found an update for it, applied it, and now Lookout is flawless! Well I try this for WT, only to find out it's not on the market anymore (glad I got it earlier when the guy told me too) to see if I could do the same; apply an update, and POOF, off we go, but alas:( I am wrong:'(

Is there anyway or anyone that could help me with this issue I have?

if that doesn't work then try Barnacle app from the market... that should work too

Or you can always look into flashing another ROM... every Gingerbread ROM I have flashed has had a Wireless tethering app built into them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that the CM7 roms are good for wireless tether and normal tether because it doesn't allow Verizon to "decode" if you using your data thru your phone or your computer. I may be way off basis here though.

Also, the CM7 roms have built in tethering so no need for a 3rd party app. Just a fyi

Another thing to try to get apps Verizon has banned from the market is to put the phone in airplane mode, then enable wifi and you should be able to find the app in question.
