I have an Android 8.1 Head unit which has been great, but now its stuck in a soft brick situation where it boots up normally but cant load the home screen or launcher screen. So what I'm looking to do is enter recovery mode. I have tried diffrent ways and none work. My unit has no POWER button or VOLUME buttons and only a reset button. I've tried the press reset for 10 seconds routine but it does not work.

I would like to reinstall android back on but I've been told I need USB Debugging set on the unit but there is no way for me to get to that screen.

How do I get my unit up and running again?

What's the exact brand and model number of the unit? These Android head units are often from no-name or off-brand Chinese manufacturers, so it may not help to know the exact model number, but at least we can help search the web for any successful steps others might have discovered.

It's unbranded but in the settings it said -

Make LETV
Model LE1

It actually comes back as a mobile phone.

Hmm, that's interesting. I remember LeTV/LeEco phones -- they must've shoved the firmware inside this thing.

How is volume controlled -- a knob? Can you press the knob in? Maybe show us an image of the actual unit.

Volume is controlled by a knob but it's not a power on/off button. Both of the knobs don't push in.

Also try pressing and holding Reset and one of those other buttons, like Menu.

No access to settings, all it says on the screen is “Android is starting up" and does not progress any further so can't get to developer settings.

Tried the reset and other buttons, nothing.

Try the reset for 30 seconds?
When did u get this headunit?

How do you power on your head unit? Or does it automatically turn on when you start the car, and stays on without any way to power it off while the car is running?

Mine comes on with the ignition. No power buttons and no way to turn off unless the ignition is off. Very annoying.

The specs on that one are completely different to mine. Loads of Chinese companies made this shape to fit in Fords.
The specs may differ, but if it's the same interface, the steps to reach Recovery may be the same. I've still had no success in finding those steps, though.
