First, this is YOUR phone, right?
There's no real way "around" it. If you set a SIM lock on your phone, you should appreciate that you need the password to unlock it and bask in the knowledge that, if your phone was stolen, your data would be relatively secure from anyone who does not have the password. That's the point.
However, if you enter it wrong for a certain number of times, it should force you to unlock it using your Google username and password. If it's your phone, you should at least have those handy.
Warning: If you're running MobileIron or something, it might factory-wipe the phone (if that's what your company wants it to do).
