I turned on my nexus 7 this morning for about 5 minutes checked my email then turned my tablet of ,now it will not come one (not even when plugged into the mains )

I had this problem a couple weeks ago when my tablet went completely flat. To be honest all i did was keep my finger on the button a LOT longer and just kept trying this....Then i plugged the charger back in, waited a few minutes and then tried again and it just came on.

I did have to keep my finger on the power button for about ten seconds though before it booted back up.
