Here is my response from HTC on a lot of things

Were the games that are skipping/lagging made for the evo or were they ported over from other phones?

Well since this has turned into another 30fps cap discussion, I don't honestly think it is the frame rate that is hurting a games performance. Correct me if I am wrong but the EVO isn't running a dedicated GPU. I think that combined with games that have NOT been optimized for the EVO is what causes most of the problems.

Wow you guys don't know..
However, try playing Raging Thunder II on the Evo compared to the N1 or Incredible.
You'll notice quite a bit of framerate issues.

Sadly, high end games don't work so well on Snapdragons. On top of that, the 30fps cap makes what games that do work not so hot.

the N1 AND Incredible both have snapdragons...

Bullcrap.

agreed.. i was just telling you what they told me.. i can sit right next to my router and get a crappy signal!

Guys the word from HTC is they working on update and hope that this will be addressed.

Fingers crossed... as long as they are working on it i am cool.. i just dont want them to keep saying its not a problem and not fix it.

I think you are wrong.. the dedicated GPU is part of the snapdragon system.. Pretty sure (bit not 100%) that the N1 and Incredible have the same Processor and GPU setup.. but i could be wrong.

I understand that phones are going to have issues, especially first runs... just really hope HTC will make it right and not leave us hangin.

I dont game a lot, and i am not 100% sure this is the FPS issue.. but the biggest thing that bothers me about performance on the phone is the choppyness when swiping screens or scrolling.. this thing should be SMOOOOOOOTH (dare i say it) as an iPhone is when scrolling... lol

I'm with you 100%! My Hero with 1.5c Gumbo was smoother swiping side to side. I had the 4th iPhone sold in my county when it was first released & there were no useablity issues & it was smooth. I ditched the iPhone though because I can't stand apple products & the thick framed glasses wearing idiots who join their cult of being controlled under the guise of being a liberal

My WiFi reception at home is FANTASTIC! On Speakeasy speedtest I was able to get 18.39mbps downsies, and 3.92 mbps upsies.

That is my highest. I'm usually in the 15mbps range down.

What type of reception is everyone else getting?

that is directly because of the FPS limitation. if you use a nexus or incredible, its smoooooooooth as butter. i've done side by side with nexus next to an evo, and its easily seen how choppy the evo is because of this stupid limitation.

Really? Really! Are people really getting upset that scrolling is not "smoooooth as butter." Let's get real. It scrolls fine. What you're describing has no functional impact at all. If your life is so perfect that a little choppyness when scrolling on your phone is worth worrying about, then you shouldn't be worried about anything.

I don't think that's the speed of your Wifi on your LAN or your phone, but your internet connection speed, correct?
