Here is why there is so much HTC hate.

In my opinion, there isnt that much HTC Hate.
Asking friends and such, they seem to love the HTC ONE. And HTC altogether.

Samsung is following in the footsteps of Apple... Yes they both come out with good products, each meant for a specific individual. But, Samsung has fallen in the trap that has got a lot of people leaving Apple, that they come up with a flagship phone which updates with "minor" changes. I have a samsung currently, and the only reason i am switching is because i was disappointed to see that the phone looks practically exactly the same. Yes, internally there are significant upgrades, but you need to make your costumers feel like you are getting something new. This in my opinion will push some people away from samsung as they did apple... big company selling their name instead of innovation.
In the big scheme, they are both big names, and will dominate worldwide... so does it really matter in the end if they lose some customers.
HTC gets me as a customer now MAINLY because they thought out of the box with this phone, at least for android standards.
Marketing is marketing though

I disagree. I mean what should they do? To come out with something completely different, looking different with different insides is insanely hard to do every year. Auto companies keep the same designs for years, TV's do, furniture, appliances and just about any other manufacturer does as well. There is only so much that can change in a year while maintaining the manufacturing speed needed to produce millions of devices. I think too many people are too concerned over having the newest things than being happy with what they have until it is worn out and needs replaced. Believe me, the people that ohhh and awhh over you having the newest stuff are not the people you should be worrying about.

Just wait untill next year. You will be complaining because HTC didn't think out of the box far enough and they are becoming stale.

I know how you feel, I was rooting for Samsung back when apple was dominating the market, just because people were too stubborn to realise that they had a sub-smart phone, with everything done for them. But now, the only company I see that still is honest and transparent is HTC. At least they tell you if the shipments arrive late, at least they reply to the random emails that ask about updates and what nots!
