Here's why I hope LG doesn't make any more Nexus phones

From everything I've read on this forum, the Nexus 4 suffers from the following problems:

1. Sub-par screen
Haven't noticed the screen as being sub-par. But I'm coming from a Virgin Mobile Optimus V so what do i know?
2. Sub-par camera
In my opinion cell phone cameras are good to use in a pinch. If you are serious about photography you should invest in a DSLR.
3. Horrible battery life
You have a point there.
4. Extremely fragile design
Wouldn't know. Thankfully I haven't had the opportunity to find out just how fragile it is.
5. What else??
Crappy headphone connection?

Who cares if the phone is made of glass and looks good. The Nexus brand deserves something better without basic issues like the ones above.

Here's to hoping that Nexus 5 is made by HTC or Motorola.

Because if Google starts making Android phones by Motorola they are going to alienate every single Android phone manufacturer by selling Nexus phones at cost as they do now. Kind of like Microsoft producing the RT tablet. But I think Google is realizing that tight control over both the hardware and software, as Apple does, is the way to a top notch product. So maybe they will do it.

It's my impression that the issues the OP describes were in early models and have been resolved although the camera could still be better.

I'm not sure why Google would use LG again, or HTC, now that it owns Motorola Mobility.

Maybe so, but where will HTC, Samsung, et al go? Tizen, Firefox and Win8 are also-rans. They can't license BB10 or iOS. So they have no choice but to let Google do what it wants. Besides, so far, the N4 hasn't sold anywhere near what a single iPhone model has, or the original EVO (>6 million), so it's unlikely that the N5 is going to cannibalize sales of other Android devices to an extent that OEMs can't make their numbers.

Very good point.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The GNex sold a few hundred thousand units and the N4 has sold over 2 million, so if the trend continues, the N5 can easily sell upwards of 5-10 million units.

Wouldn't call windows phone an also ran.

It's going to have to grow a lot more before most developers can justify creating apps, the selection of which is key for convincing people to buy WP8 phones.

That's why I don't want a WP because of lack of apps. Besides I use Google apps mainly so Android is perfect for me

I really hope the Nexus line becomes more popular.
