hero of sparta on the EVO issue.

It was constantly force closing on my D2...when I wasn't using it o_O
I uninstalled rather quickly ;)
Anyone having issues with Spiderman? I was going to buy it, but HoS has me nervous...

Its not just an issue with the Evo, Hero of Sparta failed to work when I paid for it on my Droid X, and it Fails to work on my DInc when I got it for FREE. I wasted money on their apps that fail, fail, fail. Not interested in their apps anymore.

I had this problem on my Epic. I found HoS in autostarts under Time Changed and Timezone Changed. I just blocked it in both and didn't have a problem.

Hmm I may have to look into this. Wonder if the issue is the same for the evo.

Doesn't play well at all on Evo

I'm getting the error just as everyone else, but the game never played very well to begin with. It'd very slow, compared to the same game on my old Pre.

@Xenx thanks bro. Your tip fixed my constant force close issue. Lets just hope this one lasts

@Rem there's a app for rooted devices called auto start. It allowed me to put and end to my issue by blocking time changed and timezone changed. I will post my results after a full day to see if it indeed is a true fix.

I get FC messages from HoS when I reboot my Evo, as well. Which I've been doing a bit more frequently in the past few days because I was trying to install the latest OTA update, but it would always fail on me, probably because I rooted through Unrevoked. (Sidetrack: I'm going to unroot after 2.3 is released and Unrevoked is updated for it, then root again then. Heard a lot of people having problems with the current update.)

I think I might have seen a few FC messages when I didn't reboot, and was not playing the game, but I'm not sure.

How is appbrain doing updates to gameloft games? I thought appbrain just went through the normal market?
I saw the same thing in AppBrain, as well. Clicked on it, and it took me to the Market page for the app... strange that it would even show up. But it wanted $4.99 for it, so I didn't install the update, since I got it for free.

Call me crazy but I want to beat the darn game first before uninstalling it, even though I am having the exact same issue. FC when I reboot, but that's it.
That's exactly my plan. Does anyone know if the uninstall process will also get rid of all the crap it downloaded after the initial install? Or do I have to manually remove them from my SD?

I wouldn't delete the files you downloaded for the game as Gameloft games are known to kick you out saying this isn't an original copy. Either way the fix I spoke about a few posts up works. Not a single force close since. I wonder if it will work for all Gameloft game problems. I'm gonna email Jerry about to see if he can give me a better understanding of what's going on with this.

Rom manager > Fix Permissions

Haven't had a problem with HOS since.

I kinda doubt this would work for non rooted users.

Same issue on my droid

I installed it and it was fine for a little while. It then started force closing on me. I would reboot and then the games as force closed message started appearing. I put up with it for maybe 2 days and then I uninstalled the app.

@Evo
Does that app only work on rooted phones? I have the issue on my DInc and would like to try it. I played the game a time or two and it was fun. Hate to lose it by uninstalling it.

Yeah unfortunately the fixes are for rooted evo's only.

Lol good job. We should not have to trouble shoot there games for them. Speaking of which how is avatar?

I haven't played it yet, tonight I will give it a try and let you all know how it is.

It's a bit laggy, I really wish my nova worked though.

As I got the game for free and don't have any other Gameloft games, I assume that uninstalling it would mean I won't be able to install it again anyway, unless I pay for it, so how would that be different if I deleted everything in the Gameloft folder?

So long as you have the .apk file to reinstall the game, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

ok maybe I confused you with my answer earlier. What I mentioned was as long as you have the files in the Gameloft folder you can uninstall the game. This way if you want to play it again later just instal the apk and your good. The Gameloft files howerevr must stay otherwise it will tell youyour copy isn't the original and not go any further. Sorry for the slip up on my part.

your Nova is having the same issue as heros of Sparta? As for the avatar game wow really I guess i shouldnt be surprised though our evo' s dont have the most powerful gpu.
