The Dev's over at XDA have been working on an ICS port for the Heroc. As of this post, the ROM is an Alpha release and may not be a daily ROM. As such, be sure to keep a good Nandroid of your daily ROM on the sd card so that you can restore easily after using ICS.

Read the thread entirely to understand what is going on. Jaybob has posted a detailed list of what works and what doesn't. Before asking questions read the first few post and do a quick search of the thread to make sure the question has not been answered.

It's too bad my Hero died on me. The guys over there did a fantastic job getting ICS working in the Hero.

It's been a month now since the last update, unfortunately it looks like the developer may be backing out on this in favor of working with other devices. :'(

Honestly with how old and outdated the Hero is, I'm surprised ICS would even be an option

I might be getting a HTC hero from a friend to test and play around with...if I do I'll look into working on a cm9 rom but no promises:)

I believe development stopped because of hardware limitations. It was developed to the point of being a decent daily. Good luck with that if you decide to take over development and keep the Hero guys going :)

Although I love my Epic 4g Touch, the Hero was another breed of its own and tons of development was pumped into the device.
