Hey all, just got my first smartphone today, the Bionic. having a couple issues looking for some quick answers.

1. I'm getting double contacts from existing contacts and facebook contacts. Is there anyway to merge them?

2. I can only have the ability to recieve calls/send texts to a person if they have only previously recieve a phone call from me or sent me a text.. (i think that's what's happening) how would i go about fixing this?

Welcome. For the first issue, you can long-press a contact, hit edit, then hit menu and you will see the option to Join Contact. From there you can consolidate all the entries for a contact. It can be cumbersome if you have a lot of contacts and facebook friends to go through, but once done it is nice. Afterwards (or before if you don't even want to go through that), while viewing your contacts list hit Menu->Display options, and check the box for "Only contacts with phones". Should clean up your contact list nicely.

Don't really understand whats going on with your second issue. Can you elaborate? Able to fix?

Well, thanks for answering the first here's my attempt at the second..

I was attempting to send a text to multiple friends but kept getting and "Unable to send" message.

I had one friend try calling me so I could test the ringtone and they couldn't get through.
Same person sent me a text which I received, after that I was then able to send them a text back.

Very confusing, but that's how i can best explain the issue.

Idk sounds like it could have just been a bug or network issue, if it happens again maybe there's a bug. Try just rebooting maybe.

And also now that I looked for it, I do not see a Join Contact option.

Click on Contact --> Soft Key ---> Edit Contact ----> Soft Key --> Join


Soft Key being the Options button on the bottom left had corner of the screen.

and i figured out the other issue.

Facebook sync'd all my numbers and added +1 in front of the area codes if I previously had there number before facebook.. verizon guy told me to simply remove the +1 from the contacts.. but now i get a message, when i try to edit those numbers ...

"Facebook contact information is not editable on this device."

any ideas besides making a new contact and rejoining them with a different number?
