Hi all, just got today my Rezound and wanted to say hii!

That's what I did. Just un-check the file types it can sync and it shouldn't sync anything at all.
I would walk you through step by step, but I rooted and uninstalled that months ago. But like I said, the steps you took should be all you need to do. It usually syncs at midnight, so you should find out for sure by then.

Be careful. VCast Media Manager has a tendency to re-check the file types if you reboot or power off your Rezound. I find that I have to constantly un-check the file types. Wish they would stay unchecked.

Yet another reason to root.

I've been lurking around for about a month now, gathering info to help me make a good decision. Just received today my spanking new Rezound from VZ Wireless, taking advantage of the $99 sale (btw, after about 3 calls to CS I was able to get one of the reps to credit my acct $30 for my NE2 credit which the website wouldn't apply).

I'm currently backing up my OG Droid and I'm hoping to be able to transfer my data/apps without any complications. Any tips are welcomed!!

Right now I'm planning to keep it stock for about a month to see how I like Sense and then I'm planning in rooting it. I'll definitely keep coming back and asking for help but I'm also planning in contributing as much as I can. I really like the friendliness in this forum!:D

Yes, this forum is very friendly and very helpful!

The last phone I waited for b4 deciding on the Rezound was the D4, mainly because of the KB. Even though I loved the KB the other limitations (battery, no SD, screen) made it easy for me to choose the Rezound. During my 2 years with the D1 I learned to use the touch KB and once I got Swype I did 90% on it. I already downloaded the Swype beta to the Rez and I'm good to go! :)

Thanks for all the LOVE!!

Welcome to the forum and to your new phone! I was a lot like you and spent a lot of time checking out the specs and info here before I pulled the trigger and bought my Rezound. I am glad I did. It is a great phone! Once you decide to take the plunge and root you will find plenty of ROM's to help you get the most out of it.

Since this fun little meet and greet is winding down and it's strolled into keyboard territory. And it's not really a strong enough topic for a solo thread . Any thoughts after MWC, reworked Sense 4.0 keyboard? Actually, I'm kinda surprised no one has brought up anything about the first real hands on videos of oem Sense 4.0 since MWC. Just found this kind of strange since so many Rezheads have been foaming at the mouth about the interpretation of "early 2012 vs later this year", recently. Or is it safe to assume alot of people peeved that Verizon had ZERO presence. @ MWC?

Carriers don't really have any presence whatsoever at these events. It's mainly manufacturers.
But if you mean what are the odds that Verizon is gonna get some of these phones, then I'd say slim to none. It seems like they go for out there, "eccentric" type phones that the other carriers don't have, just to try and make themselves look exclusive. The problem is, the phones sucked for like 2 years. Now at least we can say there's a few good ones available to us.

Yeah, I meant "zero presence" as completely absent from the rumor mills in all the hands on & follow up reports on the web.

Verizon is like the movie and game industries. They pull in the heavy hitter sequels...phones with name recognition that they think will sell well and get more subscribers. The Droid 4, RAZR, Dinc2, Galaxy Nexus, DX2, etc... Everyone else says "yes we will gladly sell the ZTE warp"...sorry everyone except AT&T they're still stuck in '07 when the iPhone was the only game in town. So now just like those other industries we're stuck in a rut where we can hope to see a handful of good phones every few years.

I'd be perfectly content with seeing fewer major releases if selections were broader. I'd love to see the big 4 stateside do something with companies like Sharp, Fujitsu or Huawei. There's some newer players in the overseas markets that I'd love to see put their toes in the water over here. They have some really nice phones emerging that deserve broader release.
