1.What is the protocol used for connection with our smart phone and the display. (Just USB or Bluetooth and how?)

2.Is all the features available already now with latest lollipop (Music, Maps,Phone)

3.And, should the Product(eg.Pioneer's)needs to be updated with SW for using Android Auto.If so, when there is additional changes from Google ,how this cane be supported by the end product.

4.Final one, is there any certifications being done for Android Auto similar to Mirror link by CCC.

Many Thanks in advance.
Hope to get cleared with my queries..

Thanks !

1. Connects via USB 2.0 for screen, touch feedback, and music. Connects via Bluetooth for phone calls.

2. Yes. Everything works. Could use a little refinement here and there, but it all works well.

3. Not sure I fully understand this question. You must buy a radio that already has Android Auto capability built-in. It's not something you can add to an older unit through a software/firmware update.

As far as updates go, any updates that Google makes to Android Auto, those are done on your phone. The radio can get firmware updates from Pioneer, but those may or may not be for Android Auto-specific features. There was a firmware update for the Pioneer units (Firmware 1.03) that addressed some compatibility issues and other minor bugs. Either way, one should have no bearing on the other.

4. I don't know.
