My dad is letting me get a new phone. What I picked is the budget limit. I know its nothing special but I think its decent for a tight budget smartphone.
It is a Huawei Vision 3 LTE. I know thier is probably better ones for just a littlle more but this was the limit($100), plus target or sears are my only options(in store only too)

I have been looking through some apps to use. Sorry if this ends up with alot of questions, hopefully its ok in a introduction thread. I know some of the basics from helping my dad out on his droids. Recently my stepmom passed away & we wanted the pics & vids off her cell but it was passcode locked.
I spent 2 days trying to get into it. Long story short, I got it.

Idk how it happend exactly lol. I took my dads mini sd, put it in the locked cell, went to guest, tried to copy but couldn't copy her's. Unmounted the sd, & switched it back to her name while sliding the card out. The passcode thing came up again, hit cancel, & it was unlcoked. Was able to access everything & copy what we wanted. This was running the latest, 5.1.1 Lollipop & a moto G model I tihnk.

In my 2 days of searching & messing around I tried this thing called ADB. I could not get it installed/working. This vid on youtube is where I first heard about it.
How To Unlock Any Android (If you forget your pattern or password), user Andrew Barnes

This got me interested & would like to get it going. Not that I need to unlock my step mom's cell anymore. But for future use. I use windows 7. Could someone give me the link(s) needed to get everything I need to get it running? I don't have my new cell yet but would like to get ADB set up on my pc.

I'm looking for some apps that will give me full control of my apps. Like what all I want to be completely disabled on startup etc.
Root booster, root task maganger, Device Control [root], Kingo SuperUser [ROOT], Systweak Android Cleaner & some others are what have me interested. Haven't looked into them, just naming off the app names.

For antivirus & malware, bitdefender or avast. Idk which is really better & would run smoother/better on my cell. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, always been good on my pc.
These are the main things I want to get done first before using the web on my cell much.

I am also planning on getting a mini sd card for my cell. I am thinking about getting this, Kingston 32GB microSDHC Flash Card With Adapter Model SDCA10/32GB.
Read: up to 90MB/s
Write: up to 45MB/s
Model SDCA10/32GB
UHS-1/Class 10
17 on newegg. I may get 2. 1 for a ram add on, doing this disables the card from being read on a computer. And another for backups(pics, vids, etc) & easy pc transfers.
Would like to find a silicone case for this cell. How would I go about updating/upgrading the OS? Thanks all for comments & help!

Hello and welcome aboard! :)

Phew! That's some degree of enthusiasm....highly commendable, but I think that you ought to wait until you've used the phone with its basic settings for a while before exploring the customisation and tweaks that Android does indeed allow you to do. It would be easy to get into a pickle if you jump straight into doing those things, especially several things at once. Take it one step at a time. There will always be other members here to help and advise. First, get the phone. :)

Hello and welcome to the forums at Android Central!
I agree with belodion.
Also, have in mind that only 8 GB of onboard memory is never enough nowadays.
You are not going to be able to download many apps and if you start rooting, more than likely soon you'll run out of available memory.

Welcome to the forums. I would suggest, if you can, to put in some money of your own. That way, you can open up your options a little bit more. Another option is: the Zenfone2. It starts at $199, can be bought on Amazon, and is a pretty nice phone for the price point.

welcome to AC.
As others have said, you should save up some money and look into getting a nicer phone.
It is after all a device that you will be spending a lot of time with and is important enough for you to really save for.

Welcome to the forums. Great to see the excitement of joining the crowds with am Android device.

Like suggested before, don't let your excitement get you jumping way ahead of your learning curve. There is nothing worse than messing up a brand new device you want to play with only to end up with a soft bricked device spending hours reading trying how to fix it... (It's not fun and very stressful) or even worse a paper weight bricked device.

Spend time learning the Android OS. Stock Android is so highly customizable with countless great apps available via Play Store.

Enjoy your new device when you get it!

Thanks for all the replies! As for getting a better cell, that will be in the future. For awhile I will mostly just be using it for texting, calling, & web occasionally.
Even though I don't have much to play with, it should be enough while I learn & get use to it. I'm not fully ignorant on OSs, I know the commands pretty good in windows 7. Ive had to manually remove viruses on a few friend's computers via cmd(manual virus removal). Just one of many things I learned to do in cmd. I have played around with parrot security OS a little bit. Downloaded Qubes-OS today, haven't tried it yet. Seems pretty interesting.

I used windows for a long time. Recently when I start getting bored with nothing to do, ill read up on different OSs & try them out. Although many users may be the opposite, I enjoy using different OSs & trying to learn something new.
