Hidden notification light?

Don't see it in any of the settings of the LG V30. I would like that feature.

There are four opaque slits on the top /top sides and one on the bottom - anyone know what they are? Looks like they could light up into some sort of led notification. If not that, some sort of drop shock absorber.

No notification light. However, if you enable the always on display, you'll receive your notifications right on the display.
AOD is not a proper replacement for an LED. It's just not the same thing.

You can see a blinking LED from a across the room and even tell what sort of notification it is by its color. An AOD is only useful if you can see it.

No device is perfect. I've got a galaxy S7 edge. Great phone, but I'm willing to give up the notification light any day for the camera, video, and quad dac in the v30.

I gave up the led when Samsung dropped expandable storage.. had been a Note user since the first one! went with the V10 and it took a while to adjust... but I got used to it. light would add to the V series, but I don't need it. I just check my phone.

No one is saying any device is perfect, but there's absolutely zero reason for OEM's to remove the LED. They're removing it because they're including things like an AOD, but they're clueless as to why many people like having an LED in the first place.

I like how the Pixel line does have the LED as well, so one could even switch from one notification "type" to the other - or use both simultaneously! - if they so desired.

I know I'm in the minority, but I never really liked the LED that much. Just seemed to encourage me to be even more glued to my phone. I eventually just turned it off.

There was also an hidden LED notification light on the Moto E 2nd Gen but it was unaccessible unless you hack it. It might actually be used for Google developers for testing, but disabled for consumers. I do miss the multi colored LED notification from Samsung, but AOD is better because you can see what the notification actually is versus just a color blinking. BTW the V20 2nd display AOD is awesome.

Though it's not quite the same, you can enable Flash alerts in the Accessibility menu under Hearing.

There's also 3rd party apps that will turn the screen on temporarily to notify you of a notification (smart notifications). There's one that will keep the screen on indefinitely while charging so you can see it on your screen.

Thank you for this recommendation!
