ok i was asked this question by a friend who wants to come to android from blackberry. On her blackberry she is able to hide app icons and folders. Is there away to hide the messenger app or any other app? Thanks in advance.....

By "hide" do you mean not see on your home screen? If so then yes you can delete any app icons on your home screens, just long press and drag to bottom of screen......but they will still show up when you press the circled arrow to bring up your app drawer...

yeah i know that one but she wants to hide it even in the app drawer
If your friend installs an alternate Launcher, like ADW, she can organize the apps in her app drawer into different categories. Just make it so that her default category doesn't include apps she doesn't want to see.

I get it. That's one feature i like about Blackberry over Android ( and I love my Android). You could hide Icons. I would love to be able to hide all the bloatware icons that I will never use without having to use a non-stock launcher.
