High battery drain for no reason

I frequently have times on my phone where it is in my pocket with no apps running at there is a heavy drain at idle, usually from 300-500 mA. The phone is hot and will drain very quickly, even with the extended battery. I usually just pull out the battery while it's on and restart, which solves the problem except I lose another 20% from the reboot.

If it's what some people call a 'rogue app' I don't see how I could find out what it is because no apps show up in the battery use menu, just android system at #1 at 46%, then screen, ect.

I am rooted with das bamf 1.7. Honestly I haven't noticed any difference since I rooted, I don't see any advantages from when I was stock. I only rooted to get netflix and sense 3.0 and wireless tether, none of which I have yet.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks

To be honest...the "rogue" app could just be the 4G radio. Are you in a 4G area?

I've tried just about every radio available for my current ROM of choice, BAMF 1.7, and while some have been better than others, I've definitely noticed that when running in 4G, the power sometimes just spikes and only a reboot seems to fix it. Never seems to happen on WIFI or 3G.

Not everything will show up in the battery use screen. If you want to see all the processes running... Go into Manage Applications and look under Running.

I'm still on 1.6.2 DB and 4G drains my extended battery like crazy.. 3G and it lasts all day with medium usage.

I'm from the Memphis area and noticed high battery drain while vacationing in the Pensacola/Navarre area. I'm wondering if it's due to an older cellular network that's not as energy efficient? I know most phones these days are dual or tri band...

I even disabled Wifi and 3G but it still drained overnight and the battery was warm. After I got home my battery usage returned to normal. ~20% during per day (charging overnight).

This is on an LG Optimus T.

try turning off mobile data and see if you are still getting the high drain. if that fixes your problem, then prob something with the 4g radio. you can use juice defender to turn off the radio when the screen is off

you can also try to clear cache and dalvik cache.

You can try to install watch dog, it is Amazon app of the day. Otherwise, try to install a stock rom and see how it goes, if it still has problems, unroot and get a clnr

Yeah, when I turn off mobile network and go to airplane mode the power usage drops right to 32mA, so it must be the network. I guess I'll just have to wait for an update because there are times when it is perfectly fine

Seems like myself and a few others have had a All of a sudden Battery issue as well that just started out of nowhere about 3-4 days ago. We've got a thread in the other forum area, titled: sudden battery issues.
