High performance mode vs other modes

Hey all,

What mode have you guys been running. I just recently turn on high performance mode and have left it on without seeing much a hit on my battery life.

Anyone else doing the same?

yep, running high performance all the time, I think it somehow manages what you do better than the other modes which in turn gives you the best battery life but again usage are different for everyone

Sold. I just made the switch to High Performance Mode.

I feel empowered now. LOL

I think it just hibernates things that are not used often quicker, I've been listening to music full blast for 3 hours and surfing around at the same time and I'm at 81%
I think usage pattern /battery use are optimised towards what you do most

i do turn screen brightness down though, unless watching something fancy then no more than 30% is really needed

I'd be interested in the answer total this. It implies it just turns screen to full resolution and bumps screen brightness a little. Is that it or are there other changes?

to be honest, I've no idea about the nitty gritty behind the scene tech bits of it, just going by personal experience and using 2 different Notes, could be a placebo effect

Settings > Device Maintenance > Performance Mode > "High Performance" instead of "Optimized"

you can add device maintenance as a side panel as well for quick access

First full day with high performance on after a typical work day and it's only at 70% and peen off the charger for 10 hours. It seems no different.

Ok, at first I thought you were spitting a whole lot of nonsense but I ran high performance since 6am this morning. With same usage, I would've already had to charge my phone, however, it's 7pm and I still have 49% battery life left.....

This. I don't have my S8+ on HPM but have it on WQHD+ . Battery life is more or less the same with FHD+
