High Performance Phone Under 5"?

Hello,

I have bad wrists and really need help finding a high performance phone under 5 inches. I currently have Samsung Galaxy S7 that is hard on my wrists, which compared to newer phones today isn't evem considered that big. So looking back at previous phone sizes that didn't hurt my wrists, I found the perfect phone:

Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact: 5.08 x 2.56 x 0.37 inches (129 x 65 x 9.3 mm)

However, it does not work on Verizon. Is there a work around to this? Are there any alternatatives/ upcoming phones that are compact but still high performance?

I'm not sure about under 5" but at 5" exactly the pixel 2 isn't that bad of an offering.
