High resolution audio - FLAC

Does the Chromcast support high res audio playback? Can this thing be made to play high res FLAC audio files?

The one feature I'd like to add is the ability to queue and play high resolution audio (doesn't need to be FLAC per se, if any of the other lossless compression formats work) files without needing to have a TV on.

Is there a way to do this? Preferably where the Chromcast just outputs LPCM data to an AVR?

Ok, I did some digging and found that FLAC files just get transcoded to .mp3 on the fly... drat.

That inicates that any FLAC uploaded to Google Music is converted to MP3, it does not indicate if HDMi/Chromecast supports FLAC. I suspect when the Dev kit moves out of Beta then it may also depend if the app used to cast supports FLAC.
