High tech device

Hi, this is for tech brains. I think my husband is in bed talking to a woman in germany. I hear pings, taps, cooing, his name, and traffic but dont think its a phone or walkie talkie. This goes on all night and i think it may be blu tooth connected? I can hear the sound kind of by his ear. Please help. Thank you.
