Hi All:

i found it difficult to find the actual specs that the S10+'s memory card slot can accommodate. there are many grades and nuances of memory cards, so i want to find the best one (i.e. fastest) for the S10+ to buy prior to the phone arriving.

may i ask if anyone knows the detailed specs of the memory card slot of the s10+ please? hoping to do this research asap so i may order the memory card and have it arrive prior to next week's arrival of my S10+.

thank you in advance.

Anyone might pitch in please?
I'd recommend just getting the fastest from Sandisk or Samsung. Even though the S10 may not utilize it fully if you insert your card into a computer to transfer or backup large amounts of data your computer can at least utilize the speed.

This just means that was the biggest card available when they wrote the specifications. 1TB cards should be out soon, and they will work just fine.

Hopefully. Samsung's website says support for upto 512gb. See below.

Dual SIM model (Hybrid SIM slot): one Nano SIM and one Nano SIM or one MicroSD slot (up to 512GB)

*SIM card sold separately. Availability of Dual SIM may vary depending on country and carrier.
*MicroSD card sold separately.

My point has been proven on countless devices.
By supporting 64GB or higher, a device supports Micro SDXC. SDXC works upto and including 2TB.
My old BlackBerry Z10 (Specs only promised 64GB support) works with 512GB cards and will work with 1TB and 2TB.

I like Evo Plus or Evo Select (Select is exactly same as Plus it is just rebranded for Amazon exclusive)

the amazon link to this Sandisk card has speeds that are very different from sandisk's own site's listed specifications.

the amazon specs are suspicious, i'm thinking.

what do y'all think please?

Yeah even the comments are saying its fake.

if Amazon is not reliable to see genuine items, who should we buy from? i just ordered mine from Samsung itself today. i just figured that i can't go that wrong by buying a Samsung card that has 100 read speed, 60 write speed.

another thought is this: as the fastest Samsung card is, i believe, their "Plus" card at 100 read and 60 write speeds, what would lead us to believe that their own S10+ phone is capable of reading/writing at speeds greater than 100/60?

i mention that because the Sandisk card was mentioned, and i saw that on various websites as well and it says that they are around 100 read/90 write. well, i am uncertain that the increase in write speed from 60 (samsung card) to the 90 (sandisk card) would be able to be utilized by the S10+. Samsung should really state the read/write capabilities of their phones so people would know what level of card they would need to buy to properly take advantage of their phones!

Interestingly, for the first time, this year my card is the identical card that i purchased for my S9+ last year. last year, i bought and still has the card in my S9+ the 128gb samsung PLUS.

i purchased the identical card this year and it arrived already, and i'll put the new card into my S10+ and sadly, have a redundant card sitting in my drawer doing nothing.

somehow, it feels more secure to do the Samsung Transfer thing from old phone to new phone while the old phone is status quo, untouched. i fear taking my card out might screw things up, somehow. maybe it's an unfounded fear, maybe it makes sense. i don't know.
