That I can install on my wear OS Huawei Watch 2 that will make the watch act like the Garmin in terms of tracking where I am on a map from a start point and as I walk keep tracking me and then be able to retrace my footsteps if I press go back so I can hike somewhere knowing I'm able to get back to where I started?

Mark the place you want to get back to in your mind, then ask for directions to it when you want to go back. Or a "where did I park my car" app could get you back to the area.

I tried an app called Viewranger, and it crashed / stalled out after I installed it. It was requiring a connection to my cell phone for the initial boot up and stalled out at that phase.

Deleted it after 20 minutes of fiddling with it.

I have a fossil gen4 explorist, but my main hiking / trail watch is an amazfit stratos. Love it for GPS trail tracking.
