Hisense 8 Image Video storage wrong

Hi everyone. I have a hisense 8 tablet that seems to be reporting the incorrect storage use for pictures,videos under settings. I only have a few photos/video stored there (16 to be thorough, and all are under 5.5mb). But, the settings->internal storage->pictures, videos is saying that I have nearly 3gb of storage space currently being used. I've searched every which way through the whole tablet and cannot find any pictures or videos that are even remotely close to that 3gb number. Does anyone have any clues as to what has happened here? Is there a way to get the internal storage to report the correct amount of data? It's not critical right now, but a day is coming where my device will get near full and I'll want that 3gb to be useful. Thanks...

Welcome to Android Central!

Have you tried using file explorer like ES File Manager to look around in the files? It gives you a little more access and detail when you start looking around.
