There is literally no way possible it would make for a release this week. Lets be logical.

A day shipping minimum to reach regional distribution centers.
A day shipping minimum to reach stores from there.
A day minimum to check them into store inventory.
A day minimum to setup marketing in stores.

There are probably more steps involved.

That makes a launch minimum of Saturday.

Yes, but this relies on the assumption that they were shipped today. We don't know that. They may be arriving in stores today. Or, if it turns to be an online only launch, none of that matters.

Not saying you're wrong, just pointing out that it's not impossible to see the phone this week.

I'd love to see the phone this week, TRUST ME. But when a store manager confirms the pic, but shows no evidence of display or dummy units being shipped or even scheduled to ship....and knowing those arrive ahead of time of the actual units....

Agreed besides, why would they ship a device that had hardware not previously approved by the FCC? Unless I misunderstood that post about the nfc stuff...

FCC approval does not preclude the shipment and stocking of devices AFAIK, only the sale of said devices. On top of that, Samsung/Google/VZW could have completed their FCC approval a long time ago and opted for a delayed release of documentation.

And on top of that, there is no visible date on that shipping notice. It could have been from last week.

So with overnight shipping, phones arrive today or tomorrow.

I'm not saying that I know your store manager is wrong, but there are plenty of other store managers, sales reps and executives that have all reported different info throughout this forum. Who knows which one is right? Hopefully, we'll find out tomorrow.

Alrighty. Gonna be a pretty moot point when you see it releasing at a later date (maybe even not next week).

I mean...barring the logic of needing to setup displays, have dummy units/display units, and the time involved with checking in inventory and transit...
